A flexible
fiberoptic nasopharyngo-laryngo-tracheoscope (“Storz”) for
visualization and photo and video documentation of all parts of
the ENT region, especially those that cannot be seen by
classical ENT examination.
In this way
we also follow up patients during treatment. This method is
highly important for the evaluation of the condition of the
nasopharynx with Eustachian tubes and part of the larynx,
hypopharynx and of the trachea. With this method we also make a
photodocumentation of the otoscopic finding.
The method
is comfortable and painless, and thanks to the small diameter of
the endoscope it is suitable for evaluation of the condition of
the adenoid in children. The endoscope is backed up by an
“Olympus Visera” digital processor with a 3-chip digital camera
and xenon light source.
Upon examination
patient has the possibility to receive the photographs or CD/DVD
of the recorded material.
Endoscopy is
performed in the operating room, which is equipped according to
the standards for operations in general anaesthesia (this is our
goal of the future).
Otomicroscopy can
also be performed in the operating room, with a binocular
“Heine” magnifier.
For surgical
interventions we have electro-surgical equipment suited for
monopolar /bipolar cut/coagulation.
Further, the
operating room also contains a modern ECG, defibrillator and
patient monitor, as well as a complete cabinet of instruments
for intubation and tracheo- and conicotomy.
